Thalea String Quartet

Dmitri Shostakovich, String Quartet No. 3 in F major, Op. 73

Philip Glass, String Quartet No. 3, “Mishima : a Life in Four Chapters”

String quartets by Beethoven in movies? The first movie that comes to mind is Prénom Carmen by Jean-Luc Godard in which the story is partly built on the scenes with the Quatuor Prat rehearsing these compositions by Beethoven. The Quatuor Thaléa also surprises us with the third String Quartet, ‘Mishima', by Philip Glass which he composed for the movie of the same name by Paul Schrader.
